Press-room
Our hybrid printing system allows
for fast,
accurate make-readies & low spoilage. The power of CIP3
is unleashed in our press-room by utilizing ink-key
profiles that were automatically generated in pre-press
& then up-loaded directly to the presses. This
information pre-sets the ink fountains so that the first
pull is close to colour. Add to that the accuracy of
pre-punched plates from our C-T-P & we are pretty close
to pleasing colour on the first pull.
Once the first pull has been made, the colour
bars
are then
scanned using Lithotel print control software &
compared to the shop standards. The ink keys on the press
are then automatically adjusted by the software to bring
the colour into tolerance. This is repeated until colour is
approved.
Once approved, the press OK is then used as the benchmark.
All scans are compared to this & colour adjustments are
made automatically before the pressman can even see a
difference.
The full system ties into our colour management system with
curves that are designed specifically designed not only for
each press, but different papers as well.
